The Melbourne Stars have capped off a week of signings, adding Pakistan fast bowler Ahmad Daniyal to their squad.

Melbourne Stars Media announced the news on Thursday, but he won't feature in their Friday night match against the Thunder.

Having already signed Andre Russell and Harris Rauf earlier in the week, the Stars have solidified their roster after being ravished by injuries this year.

Marcus Stoinis, Joe Burns, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Billy Stanlake and Seb Gotch are all missing from action in the early season.

Daniyal is a young prospect who broke out this year in the Abu Dhabi T10. After an impressive season, he debut in the Pakistan Super League later this year.

The 24-year-old comes from the development program at Lahore Qalanders. This has become an excellent talent Source for the Stars. Haris Rauf and spinner Syed Faridoun are both products from the program.  Faridoun made his debut last week, in the Star's disappointing performance against the Sixers.

Daniyal flew into Australia on Monday and is now able to join the team having just completed his 72-hour mandatory quarantine.

Stars General Manager Blair Crouch was excited to add some more talent to the team. After a poor start to the season, he understands how important these signings are for the club and its fans.

"It's been a huge week of international signings at the Stars and we are looking forward to welcoming Ahmed Daniyal into the family."

"To have Andre Russell, Haris Rauf and Ahmed Daniyal commit to the club for BBL|11 is a massive boost for the squad and for all of our fans, who we can't wait to see back at the MCG this summer to cheer on these world-class players."
